311 DREAMS:

I tend to have a lot of 311-related dreams so I thought I would start recording them! Haha. Most dreams I have about them revolve around trying to get to a show but being really late and missing half the set. I most likely have these because it’s probably a deep-down fear or something, since it would obviously suck to miss half of a show!

Anyway, I’m going to start with the one I had last night. =D

I dreamt that I was at a summer show and they let people in to watch the soundcheck. Everyone was sitting on a grassy hill which was all there was for ’seating.’ There was no paved area or anything, just a small grassy hill that was right in front of the stage/at stage level. They played Purpose and then SA announced that the new album was for sale by the merch stand (we didnt think it was coming out til 2009)! I went and got one, but it was a vinyl/record…it came in a box, and had the exact DTOM artwork on the front! But instead of saying “Don’t Tread On Me” it had the new album title on it – but I CANNOT REMEMBER WHAT IT SAID!!!

I opened the cover and it started playing! All the songs were slow and sounded the same, and I remember saying that I thought it was “boring” and decided right away that i didn’t like it. =( I found out that I had missed them soundchecking Galaxy while i bought my record, and then they started playing Beautiful Disaster. Halfway through the song a venue worker came up and told them they had to stop because it was time for the show to start.

Strange…!

Last night I had a weird dream that was mostly about Tim and P-Nut. I don’t remember all of it, but I do remember going to a show, and then meeting up with those two afterward. We decided to get beer and carryout from somewhere and took it back to the house of the friend I was with (I have no idea who it was, it was someone that was made-up in my dream!).

Nothing really happened, I just remember sitting around, eating and drinking with those guys like they were regular friends and not my favorite musicians…we were just watching TV, and I really wasn’t even paying that much attention to them! The house we were in was kind of old and crappy and we were just hanging out. Hmmm…

I had another one last night! It was really short though, because I woke up a bunch of times last night and had lots of short dreams. All that happened was I was going through 4 missed texts I had on my phone, and one of them said it was from “Nick” and had a CA area code…I was like no way! I checked it and he just said “Hey what’s up, hope to see you soon!” or something. There were a few pics attached that I was scrolling through on my Treo, but they were just weird 311 promo flyer-looking things. =/

Well, I had another “typical” 311-related dream last night, which involved me taking too long to get ready and being late for a show. It was a little different though. I dreamt that I was at 311 Day, and was staying in a hotel by myself for some reason. The fan party and show were on the same night, and I was getting ready for the fan party. I was insistent on finding a certain pair of (small) earrings that were mixed in with a bunch of other earrings I brought, and throughout the course of the dream, it felt like I spent around an hour searching for them! It was so annoying!

So, I was trying to get ready and wanted to double check what time the fan party started. It took a second to find my tickets but I was so relieved when I found them in a makeup bag in my suitcase. =/ The ticket said the fan party started at 5:30 and it was already 6:30! I think the show was supposed to start at 8, so I thought that maybe I should just skip the fan party and go straight down to the show and get in line. But I really wanted to go to the fan party and hang out with people.

I eventually walked down to the fan party (it must have been in the hotel) and walked in, but then the dream skipped to the end of the trip and I was back in the hotel room at the end of the night trying to pack up tons of clothes and everything that was strewn all over my room, and pack it into 2 small suitcases.

The dream was not good at all, I felt very anxious throughout a lot of it. I don’t know why I keep having dreams about being late to 311 stuff! I have really only ever been late to one show, and that was in 2005…and I didn’t really even end up caring because it was the outdoor KC show where it poured almost the whole time, the crowd sucked, and it was basically the exact same setlist as the night before. I mean, I guess missing part of a 311 show is probably a fear of mine, but I didn’t realize it was that important! I think maybe I’m worried about getting to Milwaukee in time after the Cincinnati show this summer – if we wait to drive back on Sunday morning it will be cutting it kind of close. Oh well!
