311 to play Bonnaroo?
This was posted on the bb…and I guess 311 has been rumored to be playing Bonnaroo this year. Trying to confirm if this is real…

Heard the rumors 2…MMmmm Im gonna go out on a limb here and say its def possible, the guys need to hit up Bonnaroo anyway, shit..its right in my back yard so I’ll def be down to go this year..last 2 years have been..mmmm ok.

Would not go….but that would be SICK. I am hoping for a 20th anniversary show at Madison Square Garden…..as hinted by P-Nut.

P-Nut tweeted about it a couple of days ago. Didn’t exactly say anniversary show but I put 2 and 2 together…..We shall see. Would not surprise me if they played the Garden this summer. P-Nut mentioned in 2008 that their promoter was waiting for the new album to try and get them into MSG.

This is what it say on wikipedia- The 2010 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival will be held on June 10-13, 2010. The line-up will be announced Tuesday February 9th. However, the original line-up release date was supposed to be February, 2nd. [1] Pre-sale tickets went on sale November 27, 2009.[2]

Brian – that makes sense. In Summer 2008, 311 reportedly drew 15,000+ to PNC Arts Center in NJ. Between songs, Nick said it was one of their biggest crowds for a regular tour show, and a radio DJ said it was one of the biggest turnouts at PNC ever. Super show, btw. I think MSG for concerts is a little over 20,000 seats, so I’m sure they’d sell it out, or come damn close!

Just speculation that it would be an anniversary show. I think there will be multiple anniversary shows just like in 2000. I could definitely see MSG getting one of them. It is a BIG deal to headline MSG…..it is time for 311 to add it to their resume. Hope it happens.
As far as PNC goes….I was at the 2006 and 2008 shows and that place was PACKED. I think they drew 17,200 for the 2006 show. So…..the key for MSG would be to NOT do a NJ show this summer. They need all the Jersey people to come into Manhattan and help sell MSG out! Let’s do it NYC area peeps! This would be a huge moment for 311.

Maybe NYC is out of the running for 311 Day based on the stupid prices of hotels/food/sights in the city. You’re not gonna find those great specials like they offer for Excalibur & Luxor. Otherwise, I don’t know why they would or wouldn’t do a special show at MSG. I just know it would make me very happy.

I’d love to see them with Massive Attack! Anyways, my gf & I live just over the GWB in Bergenfield. Congrats on the lil girl! A 311 onesy is the mark of a good father, imo. haha!

By far the biggest show ever was in Atlanta in 2006, i was in the pit, turned around and was like “WOW its completely full”!!! 18555 peeps, heres the stats..

nice. they have def acknowledged ATL as a place they get madd love. im almost glad they never reached “arena” status (yet!). generally, those places dont sound as good as the clubs, imo.

Back when they would be in mansfield in 06 and 07 (screw the comcast center now) they were getting nearly 18, 000 to and I remember doing the exact same thing, looking back from the pit and thinking WOW

I don’t think I would want them to do another summer tour with Jay-Z. They would have to “open” even though it would be a co-headlining tour.
Too bad about the Deftones……I would love to see a 311/Deftones Unity Tour!

i would loooooooooooooooooooooooooove no doubt…or even incubus since ive never seen em…or beastie boys…but with any of those bands it starts to become a tough question of who opens, ya know? i’d probably rather have a little smaller-time opener and have more time for 311 and less chance at all GH sets.
i still say TOADIES would be fucking awesome opener!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Phoenix, Michael Franti and spearhead then 311 would be a sick show. P-nut and essay gave props to Phoenix when they were in ATL last summer and Michael would be a great Raggea feel. -alejandro

I saw Sugar Ray open for them once, but someone threw a shoe at Mark McGrath’s head during the set, and he took his band off stage early. lol. Everyone was so happy.

seriously toadies fucking rule! i saw them in madison in like the summer of 08 in a tiny bar and it was one of the best shows of my life, sounded amazing and everyone was way into it and had a blast. super high energy actually and it was pretty surreal, i never thought i’d get the chance to see em!

They are probably waiting for 3:11(or 3:12 since it is every 6 minutes) to do 311. I am 99.9% sure we will see them on the official list.
Now….if only I could get confirmation they are playing Madison Square Garden this summer………..
