Nick announced on Twitter last night that he will be doing a solo acoustic set at Candlelight Serenade Acoustic Festival on August 21st near SLC! He said the show is a benefit for Child Rescue, an organization fighting child slavery in North America.

Other artists performing include Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional, Third Eye Blind, Relient K and more.

So, this is the 2nd Nick solo event in the past few months. I’m happy about it I guess, even though I probably won’t be able to go to this one either! I wonder if he’ll do more? I’m also glad it’s acoustic – maybe he actually listened to my suggestion about acoustic sets on Loveline???!!

It seems like there is so much going on in 311 world right now! The Summer Tour is coming to an end this week, with a show tonight in SLC and…FINALLY…it will be my turn to see 3 shows in a row here in California this weekend!!! I cannot wait!! =D

As you may have heard, management said yesterday:

We plan to announce a very special 4 day event happening the first week of March 2011 very soon.

WOW!! What could this be?? Well, since it is in early March, it seems like it will be too cold to have any sort of event anywhere besides southern Florida, which I don’t see happening. And it is NOT in LA.

My guesses are a cruise, a Hawaii or Jamaica trip, or some sort of spring break thing in Mexico. A bad thought popped into my head today…I hope it’s not some MTV Spring Break crap!!!!!! I think there is a good chance it could be a cruise though. What else???

Whatever it is, I’m going to start saving now! I don’t recall 311 ever doing a 4-day event in the past, so whatever it is, it must be pretty epic!!!!

Also, P-Nut did a radio interview and someone from the bulletin board summarized his interview, saying:

I just heard Pnut get interviewed on our local alternative station. He mentioned they have a whole albums worth of material that they will work on for the next year. He said after they released Uplifter and started playing the songs they wanted to change up some of the songs. So they want to spend extra time on the next album.

He also mentioned the next album will be recorded independently and released digitally. However they are open to a record company picking them up for this album. He said hopefully not though.

I feel a little overwhelmed with 311 news right now! First and foremost is the Halloween show.

I know you all have heard about this by now! How about that pre-sale yesterday…craziness! Who got tickets? I tried, but the word verification didn’t even display a word to type in, so I had no choice but to go back to the beginning…and of course by that time it was sold out.

Good luck to those trying to score tix! The capacity of the Fox Theater is only 4,500, and the “pit” is actually seats…with just over 150 tickets available. There WILL be some pit tix and great seats available tomorrow, and probably a few even in the regular sale – so don’t lose hope yet!!

Unfortunately the scalpers already managed to steal tix from us true fans and I saw a pair up on ebay foro $1,100!!! Are you kidding me?! 311 REALLY needs to change their pre-sale system, and should really get a fan club in place. What do you guys think? I suggested something like what No Doubt did last year. What is next?! Not fair!!!

I know the Summer Tour is still in full swing, but since I’m not able to go to even HALF of my normal amount of shows this summer, I’m already looking ahead to the fall!

Chad already pretty much confirmed one fall show with me when I talked to him at Drum City…and now a reliable source has informed me that 311 will supposedly be touring for about 2 weeks this fall with the DIRTY HEADS!! It sounds like they will mostly be east coast/southern dates, but no matter what, I will be there! Start saving now!! =D

UPDATE: I just found this link – looks like there is already one show confirmed!! 311 will play the De Luna Fest in Pensacola, FL on October 15th or 16th!! NICE!!!

I hope everyone is enjoying the summer shows. It’s so depressing not going to my usual shows, and honestly I’ve even stopped looking at the setlists, and haven’t even looked at a single picture or video from the tour yet. I don’t feel like myself by doing this, but it’s just too painful to see what I’m missing right now!! =*(

Oh well, only 3 weeks til the California shows! They better deliver or else!

311 IS BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!! The setlists so far have been awesome!!! So many different songs played each night! I haven’t closely studied the order or anything yet but they seem to be changing things up a lot!!! I’m really hoping that “those” setlists of 2009 are a thing of the PAST! Back to normal!!!! =D

Can’t wait to finally see them tonight at Summerfest!!! It’s gonna be amazing…it feels like it’s been forever!!!!!!!!!
